Initiating its outreach programme, the University conducted a Workshop on Reading and Writing English for two days on January 11 and 12, 2010, where many eminent English Professors were invited to interact with students. Apart from this activity, all the Colleges in the neighbourhood were invited to participate in this Workshop. Around 120 students and Heads of English departments from different Colleges attended this Workshop. Dr. Daniel Roberts, Queens University, Belfast, Northern Ireland and Dr. Christopher Shepard, Trinity College of Dublin were special invitees besides Prof. Watson Solomon from SRM School of Journalism and Mass Communication. There was an overwhelming response to this outreach programme.
