Acting on the suggestion of the Vice-Chancellor, The World Science Day was observed on the 28th of February, 2011 at the Campus of the Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur. This is in tune with one of the aims of Science Club to motivate the school children in and around Thiruvarur to pursue science studies for their higher education. Written Quiz, Oral Quiz, Dumb Charades, Group Discussion, Seminar Presentation and Science Exhibition competitions were held in which +2 students took part enthusiastically. The Registrar, Mr. V.K. Sridhar, who adjudged the group discussion, observed that talented students are to be found everywhere irrespective of the nature of the schools they study. The winners of these competitions received the prizes from Prof.B.P.Sanjay, Vice-Chancellor, in a simple function held at the multipurpose hall of the University on 1st March, 2011.
